Nepalgunj / Preparations for both the 11th edition of the Dharā Nepalgunj Marathon and the Nepalgunj Conclave have been completed, the organizers announced during a press conference. Founder President of the Nepalgunj Marathon, T.S. Thakuri, stated that the winner of the 11th Dharā Nepalgunj Marathon will receive Rs. 200,000 in cash along with a trophy. Likewise, the winner of the women’s half marathon will be awarded Rs. 75,000, a medal, a certificate, and a trophy. In the open men’s full marathon (42.195 km), the second-place finisher will receive Rs. 100,000, the third Rs. 50,000, the fourth Rs. 25,000, the fifth Rs. 15,000, and the sixth Rs. 10,000.

Thakuri further announced that all participants who complete the marathon will receive Rs. 5,000 in cash. In the veterans (45+) category, the top three runners will receive Rs. 25,000, Rs. 15,000, and Rs. 10,000, respectively. In the women’s half marathon, the runner-up will receive Rs. 50,000, the third-place finisher Rs. 25,000, the fourth Rs. 15,000, and the fifth Rs. 10,000. Race Director Chandra Gurung added that the top three finishers in the 10 km open category (men and women) will receive Rs. 20,000, Rs. 15,000, and Rs. 10,000, respectively.

Similarly, the top three runners in the 5 km school-level boys’ and girls’ categories will receive Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,000, and Rs. 2,000, along with medals and certificates. Participants in the wheelchair race will also be awarded Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,000, and Rs. 2,000.

He further shared that the top three finishers in the corporate run will receive medals, certificates, and a special surprise gift package, which will be announced after the marathon.

New Initiative: Nepalgunj Trophy for Schools

Starting from this edition, the organizers are introducing a new initiative — the “Nepalgunj Trophy”, which will be awarded to one school in recognition of its contribution to building a healthier society.

Nepalgunj Conclave Also Ready

On the same occasion, Conclave Director Janak Nepal announced that preparations for the Nepalgunj Conclave have also been completed. He shared that the one-and-a-half-day event will feature experts from various fields who will speak on diverse thematic issues.

Key partners—including KL Dugar Group’s General Manager Pradeep Chajed, representatives from Shikhar Ply, and other supporting organizations—will participate in the conclave .
