Kathmandu / The 10th edition of the Nepalgunj Marathon will feature a night race for the first time. According to the organizers, a 10 km night run will be a pre-event for the competition.

Organized by Creative Hands, the night race will occur on October 3rd (Constitution Day). The race, which will start from BP Chowk at 9 pm, will follow a route certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).

Creative Hands has announced that the 10th edition of the Dhara Nepalgunj Marathon will include 10 other events in addition to the night run. The main competition will be held from November 22. Registration for the marathon started on August 1.

As this is the first time the event is being held at night, the organizers plan to allow only professional runners with at least 5 km of running experience to participate in the night run. The competition will feature categories for men, women, and veterans.

The top three finishers in the men’s and women’s categories will receive 25,000, 15,000, and 10,000 rupees respectively. Veterans will be awarded 15,000, 10,000, and 5,000 rupees.

“Since the night race is of a different nature, the organizers have arranged special management, preparation, and security measures,” the organizers said in a press release.
