FPA and SAARC Journalist Forum Explore Global Media Collaboration

New York — A virtual meeting was held between Ians Williams, President of the Foreign Press Association, and Raju Lama, President of the SAARC Journalist Forum, to discuss possible collaboration and strengthen ties between the two media organizations.

During the online discussion, both leaders exchanged views on key issues related to international journalism, press freedom, journalist safety, and the importance of stronger cooperation among media organizations across different regions.

Speaking during the meeting, FPA President Ians Williams emphasized the importance of global solidarity among journalists and highlighted the role of professional media organizations in protecting independent journalism and freedom of expression worldwide.

SJF President Raju Lama briefed the meeting on the activities and objectives of the SAARC Journalist Forum, including its efforts to promote regional cooperation, peace journalism, and professional networking among journalists in South Asia.

The discussion also focused on possible future collaboration through joint programs, media exchanges, conferences, dialogue initiatives, and professional development opportunities for journalists.

Both sides expressed optimism that closer cooperation between the Foreign Press Association and the SAARC Journalist Forum would help strengthen international media engagement and create new opportunities for collaboration on global journalism issues.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to continue discussions and explore future partnership initiatives between the two organizations.
