Nepalgunj – A large-scale tree plantation program was successfully organized on Saturday at the premises of the Integrated Check Post (ICP), Nepalgunj. The event was organized by the Rotary Club of Central Banke in collaboration with the Integrated Check Post Nepalgunj, Nepalgunj Customs Agents Association (Unit), and TAS Atlas Logipark Pvt. Ltd.

The program was held under the chief guestship of Chief Customs Officer Janardan Poudel. Among those present were Armed Police Force Deputy Superintendent Tirtharaj Neupane, Terminal Manager of TAS Atlas Logipark Pvt. Ltd. Tarkaraj Joshi, senior journalist Jhalak Gaire, Vice President of the Nepal Valuers Association Engineer Bibek Lamichhane, 8 Billion Trees Nepal Director Hement Raj Kaphale, President of the Nepalgunj Customs Agents Association Dinesh Baniya, President of Nepalgunj Marathon T.S. Thakuri, officials of the Rotary Club of Central Banke, customs officials, members of the Customs Agents Association, and other stakeholders. Around 50 participants attended the event.

According to Green activist Hement Raj Kaphale approximately 500 saplings of various species—including Indian gooseberry (Amla), Neem, Moringa (Sitalchini), Royal Poinciana (Raj Briksha), Khair, Koiralo, Chhatiwan, Jacaranda, and Parijat were planted during the program.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Customs Officer Janardan Poudel emphasized that tree plantation is essential for maintaining environmental balance and stressed that equal importance should be given to the protection and care of the newly planted saplings.

Program Coordinator Saroj Regmi informed participants that Rotary International District 3292 is observing Tree Plantation Week 2026 from July 26 to August 1, with the ambitious goal of planting 100,000 trees across the country.
