Nepalgunj / Recognizing the importance of environmental protection and sustainable development the Lumbini Provincial Government has appointed Green Activist Hement Raj Kaphale as an Environmental Expert.

Mr. Kaphale has been actively engaged more than 2 decade in the fields of environmental conservation, climate change advocacy and green development. His tireless work in these areas has earned him national and international recognition, including the Bas Brightland youth award 2017, WWF Conservation Award (2021), the Green Youth Climate Activist Award (2017), the South Asian Youth Climate Conference Everest Climate Action Award (2023), the Samarasta International Award (India, 2017), and the International Tree Man Award (India).

He currently serves as the Planting Director of 8 Billion Trees Nepal, and leads the nationwide “Moringa for Love” Campaign. He is Nepal representative of Moringa for Love campaign which is working in 26 countries. His passion promoting the health, environmental, and economic benefits of the Moringa tree across Nepal. Through this initiative and other programs he has helped plant and distribute thousands of trees in support of reforestation and ecological awareness.

Mr. Kaphale’s unwavering dedication, visionary leadership, and grassroots commitment to environmental causes are the key reasons behind his selection as an Environmental Expert by the Lumbini Province.
