Banke / The Kalpavriksha, a tree of immense religious, environmental, and cultural significance, is described in Hindu scriptures as a divine wish-fulfilling tree. Believed to have originated in heaven, it is said to reside near Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Its glory is mentioned in ancient texts such as the Manusmriti, Puranas, and the Mahabharata. More than just a tree, it symbolizes faith, prosperity, health, and peace. The sapling planted at the temple was grown by 8 Billion tree planting director Hement Raj Kaphale from seeds sent by Sadhana Adhikari Rana, who resides in Germany for supporting Hement Give me seeds I will give you trees green campaign .

Recognizing its deep spiritual and ecological importance, a Kalpavriksha sapling was ceremoniously planted in the sacred premises of the Bhuvar Bhawani Temple, located in Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality. The planting was initiated with a traditional Bhoomipujan (ground sanctification ritual) performed by the temple priest.

Acting upon the request of journalist Damodar Bhandari, who emphasized the need to plant this sacred tree, the Kalpavriksha was jointly planted by Lumbini Provincial Assembly Member Ambika Kafle, Hement Raj Kaphale, Ashok Kumar Shrestha, Ms. Sapana Bhattarai, and Kamal Kafle.

The plantation of this Kalpavriksha not only supports environmental conservation, but also serves as a symbol of spiritual awareness, greenery promotion, and social unity. There is great religious significance of the Bhuvar Bhawani Temple itself, it is believed that the presence of Kalpavriksha will promote religious tourism, help foster a green environment, and deliver an inspirational message for future generations.
